Bucking Fugs

So, we use Norton/Symantec Corp. Antivirus here at the office. It's nice, because we've set it to automatically download and push the latest AV def. updates to all client PCs on a regular basis (daily).

Unfortunately, you have to rely on the timeliness of Symantec to update their defs as new strains of nasties get released by the script kiddies. So, I come to find out th egeneral public has about an average of a 1-2 day window between the release of a virus and the release of AV updates.

Yeah...we found that out the hard way in our org today. Somebody opened an email with the W32.Mydoom.F (variant of the orig MyDoom released last week) attached which then proceeded to infect numerous shares all the fuck over our network.

Needless to say, it's coming up on 1 a.m., and we/I'm still here deplonking PCs (after a 3 hour wait for a Symantec fix for the bitchass update).

Somebody bring me a bucket

Parents gave me a new digicam (Canon 3100) for my birthday. It's a much needed upgrade from my older HP C210 P.O.S.

Took some snaps last weekend to test it.

A buddy of mine J. has at least one annual "Burning of the Treestm" bonfire per year. We torched about 15 nicely dried xmas trees last Saturday.

Relaxing, pre-trees...lookit them embers Tree number something...not quite so spectacular... J., holding up the last tree

And then, there's the obligatory pic of my current project...a mission style table. My first attempt with some mortis and tenon joinery. Though not quite as exciting as burning xmas trees in 'effigy,' it relaxes me to some degree.

Damn fine craftmanship
